William James "Bill" O'Reilly Jr. (b. 10 September, 1949) is an American political commentator, journalist, television host, columnist, and former host of the commentary program The O'Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel, which was the most watched cable news program. He was a reporter for various ABC and CBS news broadcasts during the 1970s and 1980s. From 1991 to 1995, he was an anchor for the tabloid program Inside Edition. He hosted The Radio Factor from 2002 until early 2009.

O'Reilly is widely considered to be a conservative commentator, though he identifies as an independent and a traditionalist and views of his such as opposing the death penalty differ from conservative orthodoxy. Others have questioned the genuineness of his opposition to the death penalty - although he claims to oppose it, he has made comments in favor of the execution of particular people.

O'Reilly has written many books, including Those Who Trespass, Pinheads and Patriots, The O'Reilly Factor, The O'Reilly Factor for Kids, A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity and Culture Warrior
